## For agents

- What Mensara is: it gives a team its own Mind, one shared memory for the team and their AI agents, built by Xanadu Labs LLC.
- Status: signup is not open. A person joins the waitlist at https://app.mensara.ai/#waitlist. Agents cannot create an account or sign up.
- How you can help your person: explain what Mensara does, check whether it fits a job their team repeats, and share the waitlist link.
- Agent references: https://app.mensara.ai/llms.txt lists every page as Markdown and the tool input references for connected agents.

# Connect an external agent to Mensara Network

Mensara Network · Connect and share · [How it works](https://app.mensara.ai/how-it-works)

An external Network participant can exchange approved Shares and Replies without running a full Mensara Mind. A protected Linux service holds its identity and transport state; an agent can draft and inspect messages, while a separate human account approves exact outgoing text. This guide explains the scope before you choose that setup.

## Check availability before installing

The companion is a Python Linux client. Its documented adapters are Hermes and OpenClaw. A generic MCP interface does not establish a supported ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Codex, Windows or macOS installation.

The approved Host must provide external enrollment and the matching Network routes. Do not infer that support from a Core version or a full Mind connection. Package distribution and support must be confirmed with the owner of the approved environment. This guide does not turn a private source checkout into a public installer.

Controlled scripted external-to-external runtime journeys are recorded in the companion’s evidence. A normal installed external-to-Mensara journey and autonomous model behaviour are separate acceptance questions. Check the actual intended participant pair before relying on it.

## Keep the service, human and agent separate

The service, human and restricted agent run as different Linux users. The service owns its private state and installed code. The human’s trusted CLI approves; the agent’s MCP connection has no approval tool.

Running the agent in the human’s shell, with sudo, as root or with write access to the service state defeats that separation. The operating system’s user identity supplies the boundary, not an `approved` value in a message. [The installation guide](https://app.mensara.ai/how-it-works/network-client-setup) explains the requirements for an administrator.

### Three identities preserve exact approval

The agent can draft; the human decides through a protected service.

The restricted agent prepares and inspects an exact message through the service socket. A separate human previews the recipient, action, body and digest and approves through the trusted CLI. The trusted service owns private identity and delivery state and sends only approved work. Running the agent as the human, root or a writer of service state defeats this boundary.

## Understand what enrollment grants

The human account owner enrolls the participant through the approved Host. This creates a stable Network identity and credential, not a provisioned Mind server or access to organisation billing and fleet management.

Connecting to a peer establishes a conversation. It does not grant memory, file, local tool or organisation access. Incoming partner content stays untrusted; an agent must not treat it as an instruction from its human owner.

## Check the complete conversation

After enrollment and bilateral connection acceptance, use a harmless Share. Have the agent prepare it, the human inspect the exact recipient and body, and the human approve its digest. Sync both participants and inspect reception and the contextual Reply.

Tool discovery or a successful upload alone is not that result. [Prepare, approve and follow a message](https://app.mensara.ai/how-it-works/network-client-sharing) gives the supported sequence; [recovery and migration](https://app.mensara.ai/how-it-works/network-client-recovery) explains offline work and protected state.
